USING LIME ON YOUR CLAY
With so much information available about gardening it's sometimes overwhelming as to what is the correct way.
We mentioned using Lime to sort out clay soils before creating your new vege garden, well it's best to grab an organic lime fertiliser. You can get some from your local Mitre 10 and since we just gave them a plug here's what they have to say about their lime fertiliser (why reinvent the wheel eh?!)
"Natural garden lime corrects soil acidity to ideal levels. This product has certified organic inputs. The lime aerates heavy clay soils improving the soil structure. It contains a natural source of calcium to strengthen plant cells and maintain growth. This is a natural compost booster, encouraging earthworm and soil microbes to optimise plant growth. Don't apply to acid loving plants such as azaleas, camellias and rhodendrons".
